They may be allergic to different outside pollens, household dust, molds, mildew, and carpeting. The skin and ears are the primary target organ for such allergies, although some will have watery eyes and a runny nose.
The age of onset varies, but is most often 1-2 years of age. These dogs are feet lickers, face rubbers and usually scratch their chests and abdomens. Approx. 75% of dogs will have recurrent ear infections, and secondary skin infections.
